Lesson 8: Triple steps

Fundamentals
Elaborating on the information about syncopation, I'd like to present to you a triple step. Triple step is a dance step, a shape that represents a swinging 8th note. It's just one option out of many. A jazz dancer would always use this signature syncopation in the dance and improvisation. Swinging 8th note (or you can say shuffle or swing rhythm) speaks for itself. You swing the note. Swinging 8th and this specific rhythm of the triple step is the rhythm you will hear on a double bass and on drums in jazz music. If you can do the triple, you can swing!
